Aesthetic Dentistry - Veneers |
Veneers are thin, custom-made ceramic shells which are permanently attached to the teeth. With this technique we are able to correct crooked, broken or darkened teeth.
Gaps between teeth ( ‘diastema’) can be closed as well. Veneers can be made very thin, thus requiring minimal removal of tooth substance. In contrast, for a crown it is necessary to remove up to 50% of the tooth substance.
Procedures
After a professional tooth cleansing and renewal of old fillings, an impression is taken of the trimmed tooth or teeth and the exact colour selected. In the second session the prepared veneers are attached to the teeth with a special adhesive technique.

Note: in some case it is not possible to apply veneers in which case the tooth must be covered with a crown.
